About Friends of MysteryFriends of Mystery is a non-profit literary/educational organization headquartered in Portland, Oregon. Its purpose is to promote educational study in all realms related to mystery. Members are interested in fiction, true crime, how mysteries are solved, and many other aspects of knowledge that can be included in the term "mystery". We sponsor a series of public meetings, called Bloody Thursdays, publish a newsletter, The Blood-Letter, give an annual award, the Spotted Owl, for the best mystery by a Pacific Northwest author. And, we also sponsor a local reading group. Pacific Northwest Mysteries, compiled by Friends of Mystery
We've compiled lists of books published by Northwest Authors for 2008, 2007, 2006, 2005, 2004, 2003, 2002, 2001, 2000, and 1999 — with more to come. To be included in these lists, the author of each book must have primary residence in the states of Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Idaho or the Province of British Columbia, and the mystery must be published in the calendar year listed. The growing list for 2008 is available here. Listings by Year: |
